picture of my drawing showing block in and cast shadow

Hard to believe that it is already the end of October, the seasons remind me of time and time brings to mind priorities. I’m back at art class working on cast drawing , working on the cast of an eye.
It’s going very slowly as the shadow must be flat, those who have attempted to do cast drawing in pencil, it’s a bit tedious, but the results might be helpful in learning about how light falls across a form. Figure sculpture is another endeavor I’m doing, is there anything more exciting than the human figure?

I’m also taking a portrait class all day on Saturdays which is incredibly amazing. More about all of this in another post. Also I will post the results . I just wanted to give an update. I’ll be showing my work soon in Westport and that is going to be alot of work but I’m excited.
Now getting back to priorities, I have exactly 5 hours before I have to take the train into New York City. I’m staring at a gorgeous bunch of red, pink and yellow roses which I just bought and put into an arrangement which would make a great painting. On the other hand I have an antique train which wants to get drawn and painted. What about paying bills ? Those red roses are calling”please paint me “and that it what I’m going to do. After all we can just do one thing at a time and 5 hours will get me started. Thanks for listening. This has helped me sort out my time and the leaves are still orange and yellow so what about my pumpkin painting?
